I attended Emory and worked in the capuchin lab in the late 1990’s. When I was in my Sophomore year, I went into his office during his office hours and told him that I wanted to work with him. He admired my courage and determination and thankfully there was an opening at Living Links in the capuchin lab and he offered me the position. I spent the next two years fully enthralled with the care, enrichment and observational research on these precious primates. He always listened to everyone in the lab whether you were an undergraduate volunteer or a post doctorate researcher, everyone was equal at the table. I was invited to his home a few times and had the honor of meeting Catherine, his fish and his cats. He was always so kind to all that he met. I am so saddened to hear this news and hope he is at peace, surrounded by animals and nature. I will never forget the kindness he showed towards me.
